Former Glyn School Head Boy Makes Guinness World Record

Former Glyn School Head Boy James Farmer has completed an incredible 24-hour tractor tyre flip challenge in support of a new sports pavilion at the school, surpassing the current Guinness World Record distance pending official verification. Now a professional trainer and fitness instructor with more than 20 years' experience in health and wellbeing, James has worked with athletes and Olympians and appeared as a fitness expert on ITV. He credits Glyn with helping to launch his career.

Battling relentless wind and rain brought by Storm Boleo, James flipped a 100kg tractor tyre continuously for 24 hours, covering 13.2 kilometres and exceeding the existing world record distance by 2.1 kilometres. The challenge was undertaken to raise funds for a new sports pavilion that will benefit current and future pupils while supporting wider community use.

Supported by family, friends, former classmates, staff and the local community throughout the event, James demonstrated extraordinary determination and resilience. Everyone at GLF Schools congratulates him on this remarkable achievement and thanks him for helping create new opportunities for future generations of pupils.
