What We Do

We recognise that some pupils face a range of barriers that can affect their learning, wellbeing and ability to reach their full potential. These barriers can include economic hardship, limited access to educational resources and enrichment opportunities, lower levels of support, confidence or aspiration, wider family or community circumstances that impact learning. While disadvantage does not determine a child's future, it can create inequalities in experience and opportunity. Our aim is to identify and remove these barriers wherever possible, providing targeted support and opportunities so that every pupil can thrive, achieve well and fulfil their potential regardless of their starting point.

Within GLF Schools, there are currently:

• Nearly 20,000 Students
• Over 4,000 classifi­ed as Disadvantaged
• Over 3,000 receiving Free School Meals
• Over 300 in the Social Care System

Access to experiences can be expensive, a cost some families do not have the luxury of accommodating in their fi­nances.
