Mayor opens new nursery at Manor Primary School, Didcot

The Mayor of Didcot, Councillor David Rouane, cut the ribbon to officially open the new nursery at Manor Primary School at a special celebration attended by families and children last week.

The new nursery has places for around thirty children aged between two and four and boasts a covered play area and spacious classrooms.

Manor Primary is the oldest school in Didcot, with extensive grounds that include a Forest School, which sees all children from Nursery to Year 6 benefit from weekly sessions, excellent pastoral care with specialist classrooms, wonderful new trim trails and play areas.

Councillor David Rouane, Mayor of Didcot, commented: "Didcot is a rapidly growing town and needs new facilities to support our increasing population. It is particularly pleasing to see one of our oldest and most respected institutions, Manor Primary School, expanding its community to support the new young families which make the town so vibrant."

Ben Thomas, Headteacher, Manor Primary School and Nursery, said: “Our new nursery is a fantastic addition to the school, and it’s been great to see the children settling in and really enjoying the superb facilities. Local families have really welcomed the new pre-school provision, and we’d really like to encourage parents to get in touch if they want a place for their children.”

Warwick Sharp, CEO of GLF Schools, commented: “It’s excellent to see Manor Primary School’s already considerable offering to local families expanding even further. Now children can benefit from time at Manor for longer, and I look forward to welcoming them into our GLF family.”

Prospective parents can organise a visit by contacting the school via email on nursery@manorprimaryschool.org.
