Last month, Merstham Park School was thrilled to welcome local artist Uncle Stubble to the school for a creative and inspiring workshop with a group of Year 9 students.

Working in small groups, students learned a variety of artistic techniques—including how to produce effective line work and blend colours into smooth gradients. These skills were put into practice on one of the school’s exterior walls, where students spray-painted their names using their newly developed talents.

In preparation for the day, students had submitted individual designs to Uncle Stubble, who thoughtfully combined them into one cohesive mural. The result is a vibrant and impressive artwork that now proudly adorns the wall outside the community entrance.

This opportunity was made possible thanks to the support of the GLF Schools’ Foundation Memorable Experiences Fund, giving students the unique opportunity to learn from a professional artist and contribute to a lasting piece of school art.
