Most recently, he served as Director of Strategy and Delivery at the Department for Education, where he led on overall strategic direction, legislation and stakeholder engagement.

His appointment follows an extensive recruitment process involving school headteachers, students, Trust staff and the Trust Board, reflecting GLF's commitment to ensuring its leadership reflects the communities it serves.

Warwick Sharp, CEO, GLF Schools, said: "Joining GLF Schools feels like coming full circle, from the classroom to Whitehall, and now to leading a trust that puts students, staff and communities at its heart. I've spent two decades working on delivering improvements in education at a national level, and multi-academy trusts, like ours, are powerhouses in themselves, with many people with superb skills and experience, and often one step ahead. I'm genuinely excited about what we can achieve together, working with brilliant schools, dedicated colleagues and real ambition to deliver an excellent education to all our children and young people."

Ian Wilson, Chair of Trustees, GLF Schools, said: "We are delighted to welcome Warwick to GLF Schools today.
