Frogmore Junior School in Blackwater has donated nearly 200 kilos of food to families in need through a local foodbank.

The school collected vital donations for the local foodbank and then delivered them to see how the foodbank worked and how the donations impacted the community. In total, the food collected weighed 187 kilos. The food donated was handed over to St Barnabas Church as part of the church’s foodbank effort.

With a recent study showing that nearly a third of students often attend school without any breakfast, donations like this can be key to helping children keep healthy and learn well throughout their school life.

This is just one of the ways in which Frogmore Junior School supports the local community.

Emma Rodziewicz, Headteacher at Frogmore Junior School, commented: “We’re very proud of our local community in Blackwater, and our children have been so enthusiastic to give back, resulting in this huge donation. Our caring ethos is our number one priority as a school, and we look forward to continuing to give back through our charitable events throughout the school year.”

Applications for children to join Frogmore Junior School in September 2026 are currently open, with the national applications deadline on the 15th January. For more information about the school and to arrange a visit please contact: office@frogmorejuniors.org
