Hillcroft Primary School in Caterham, Surrey, has unveiled it’s new £70,000 nursery for two and three year olds.
The new nursery, which will cater for up to 15 toddlers was officially opened last week in a special ceremony which was attended by local councillors and GLF School’ Interim CEO James Nicholson.
Hillcroft is an Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’ school and received the funds for the new nursery from a Department for Education grant.
The new space complements the school’s existing nursery for three- and four-year-olds, creating a smooth and supportive journey into Reception. The nursery has been thoughtfully designed to provide a safe, stimulating environment where children can explore, play, and learn. Indoors and outdoors, there are spaces equipped with age-appropriate resources that encourage creativity, curiosity, and physical development. The room has been completely refurbished with a new toilet block, a large sand pit, and a remodelled outdoor area. Children will also enjoy access to Hillcroft’s beautiful school grounds, outdoor learning spaces, and Forest School activities.
Carly Gear, Interim Deputy Headteacher at Hillcroft, commented: “We’re very pleased to officially unveil our new nursery offering for two and three year olds, which now means that children can experience Hillcroft’s outstanding educational offering from two years old through to the end of Year 6. With new, age appropriate resources, we will welcome 15 new children to our school and grow our community. We look forward to welcoming our youngest learners!”
