Marden Lodge raises over £1000 for new playground equipment

The Marden Lodge Primary and Nursery School community is celebrating the success of its recent whole school autumn walk to Manor Park, which raised almost £1,000 to support new playground equipment for pupils.
The event saw children, staff, and around 30 parents and carers take part in a cheerful morning walk through the local area, enjoying the crisp autumn air and beautiful seasonal scenery.
The walk not only promoted wellbeing and outdoor learning but also brought together families and staff in a shared celebration of community spirit.
Funds raised from the event will go directly towards enhancing playground facilities, providing new equipment and resources for pupils to enjoy during playtimes, for example chalkboards and storytelling chairs for children who like a quieter play environment, and sports resources such as skipping ropes, and outdoor athletics equipment to encourage active play.
Headteacher Sarah Rumbol said: “We are absolutely thrilled with the success of our Autumn Walk. It was wonderful to see so many families come together to support the school and enjoy our local environment. The sense of community was truly inspiring, and the funds raised will make a real difference to our children’s play experiences.
“I’d like to thank everyone who joined us, donated, and helped to make the event such a memorable occasion.”
