GCSE Success Across GLF Schools in 2025
Back
Students across GLF Schools are celebrating a strong set of GCSE results in 2025, with outcomes that not only met Trust targets but in many areas outperformed national trends.
GLF Trust-wide highlights
- 72% of students achieved a standard pass (Grade 4+) in English and maths – outperforming the national figure of 70.5%.
- 54% achieved a strong pass (Grade 5+) in English and Maths – again above the national benchmark of 55%, marking the Trust’s highest performance outside the pandemic years.
- In Maths, outcomes were particularly strong across the Trust, with performance above national averages at both Grade 4+ and Grade 5+.
- Science subjects, French, Food Preparation & Nutrition, Art, and Business Studies also stood out as particular strengths across GLF schools.
These achievements are especially positive given that, nationally, outcomes in English and Maths at Grade 4+ fell slightly compared to 2024.

- Glyn School achieved very strong results, with 86% of students securing a Grade 4+ in English and Maths, and 72% at Grade 5+, both well above national averages. Its Attainment 8 score of 55.8 is also significantly higher than the national figure.
- Highdown School and Sixth Form Centre, which joined the GLF family this year, saw solid maths outcomes and strong performances in science and art, setting a clear foundation for further progress
