Last Friday, Al Pinkerton, MP for Surrey Heath, visited Cordwalles Junior School, Pine Ridge Infant School and Lorraine Infant School. The schools welcomed Mr Pinkerton for a tour of each site, followed by an opportunity to meet with staff and students. With a focus on pupil development and recent achievements at the schools the visit provided the chance to discuss key issues including funding, infrastructure, support for children and families and SEND provision.

The visit also included a tour of the new playground at Cordwalles Junior School, which is close to completion.

Abi Moore, Headteacher, Cordwalles Junior School said: “We were delighted to welcome Al Pinkerton to our schools to see all the hard work of pupils and staff. It’s so important that our local MPs see for themselves the success we celebrate as well as the challenges faced by staff and schools.”

Karen Ney, Headteacher, Lorraine Infant School and Pine Ridge Infant School said: “We are very grateful to Al Pinkerton for his time and the opportunity to raise vital issues for our pupils and families. We hope that with his continued backing, we can highlight the support schools in Surrey need.”
