Manor Primary School has been rated ‘good’ in its recent Ofsted inspection, with inspectors noting how the school motto ‘aspire and contribute’, is “woven through the curriculum and school life.”

“Staff have high expectations of pupils’ behaviour” the report states, with inspectors praising the good behaviour of the children, remarking that they are friendly and accepting of one another, and they strive to demonstrate the school values in daily school life - proudly wearing the badges which reflect these values.

It is pleasing that inspectors recognised the “carefully designed broad and balanced curriculum” and highlighted the benefits of the new curriculum which has been introduced across science and many foundation subjects. They note the inclusivity of the curriculum, stating “Teachers make sure that pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) have support and adapted resources so that they can learn the same curriculum alongside their peers.”

The report emphasises the focus on reading, complimenting the teaching of phonics and appreciating that “Teachers read high-quality and diverse texts to their classes to promote a love of reading”, which the children enjoy.

The inspection report commends the school’s personal development programme and the strong approach to supporting children’s mental health and well-being. Inspectors saw that the school “encourage(s) pupils’ talents and interests well”, recognising that the children are enthusiastic about opportunities to represent the school. The inspectors noted the impact of the tennis programme which has been running with the support of the GLF Schools’ Foundation and The Tim Henman Foundation.

Jessica Robinson, Headteacher, commented “As the Headteacher of Manor Primary School, I am immensely proud of our school community for achieving a 'Good' rating from Ofsted. It reflects the dedication of our staff, the enthusiasm of our students, and the support from parents. This success is not just a validation of our efforts, but a testament to the collaborative spirit that defines our school. We will continue to strive for excellence, knowing that every achievement is a stepping stone towards unlocking the full potential of every student in our care.”

This is the first Ofsted report since Manor Primary School joined GLF Schools in 2019; the school is a two-form entry primary school with years Reception to Year 6.
