Ian Wilson
Chair of the Trust
Ian has been Chair of GLF Schools since September 2025. Ian is an education consultant, a leadership coach and a National Governance Association (NGA) consultant. After headship in two secondary schools, Ian became the Principal Consultant for Schools in Surrey. He has served on the Education Committee of the Royal Society and is a Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society.
Ian’s publications include two mathematics textbooks, a guide to ICT for parents, and (as co-author) the latest edition of “Effective School Management”. For many years he reviewed maths publications and ICT software for the Times Educational Supplement.
Ian was made MBE in 2024 for services to education.
