Four Beacon School students have returned from Wimbledon 2026 with memories to last a lifetime after serving as members of the prestigious Wimbledon Ball Crew.
Congratulations to Caitlin, Adam, Oliver and Oscar who spent two weeks at The Championships demonstrating exceptional dedication, commitment and resilience under the intense pressure and heat of one of the world's most famous sporting events. The quartet were selected as part of an elite team of around 250 ball boys and girls chosen to support matches across the tournament.
Working at Wimbledon requires months of preparation, rigorous training and unwavering focus. The students performed their roles at the highest standard, helping matches run smoothly while representing both themselves and The Beacon School with pride and professionalism. Oscar described the experience as a "once in a lifetime" opportunity, while the pupils spoke of the privilege of being so close to some of the world's top tennis players.
Throughout the Championships, the four students embraced every challenge with maturity and determination. Their hard work, resilience and positive attitude were evident at every stage, and they should be immensely proud of their achievements.
A special congratulations goes to Caitlin, who received the exceptional honour of being invited back for the final Sunday as part of the Guard of Honour. Caitlin was on court during the trophy presentations and speeches, experiencing one of the most iconic moments in world sport from a truly unique perspective.
This remarkable achievement reflects not only the students' commitment and perseverance, but also the support of their families throughout the selection and training process. Their success is an inspiration to younger students and a testament to what can be achieved through hard work, dedication and self-belief.
Everyone at The Beacon School and GLF Schools is incredibly proud of Caitlin, Adam, Oliver and Oscar. Their Wimbledon journey has been an outstanding accomplishment, and we congratulate them on representing themselves, their families, their school and the Trust so brilliantly.
Well done to all four students on an unforgettable Wimbledon experience.
